Preventing Falls in the Hospital
I’m not sleeping, I’m just resting my eyes… Hello, I’m Dave and this is a video about hospital beds…
Actually it’s a video about how to keep you from falling, while walking around or in bed.
Now if you don’t have a ball pit by your hospital bed then this fall could have been much worse.
You might be thinking, “You’re young, you’re strong, you’re not gonna fall.” I hope you don’t but
remember.
If you’re taking medication or you’ve had a procedure or a surgery it might make it harder to keep
your balance.
So, if you’re in your bed but you need to get out of bed… ya know, because you lost the last piece of
your puzzle or because you need to go use the restroom.
You should ask for help. There are people here whose job is to help you. Can someone get me that
puzzle piece?
One more thing. Sometimes floors can be bananas. Not literally… It's a metaphor. Floors can be
slippery and make you fall.
That is unless you’re wearing the extra special GRIPPER SOCKS! They’re socks… they grip!
And uhm, that’s about it. So call for help if you need to get out of bed and wear your gripper socks.
