La esclerosis múltiple, o EM, es una enfermedad autoinmune. Por lo general, su sistema inmunológico le protege atacando a los invasores como los virus y las bacterias.  Al tener EM u otra enfermedad autoinmune, su sistema inmunológico reacciona de manera anormal. La EM ataca los nervios de su cerebro y su columna vertebral.
